Husband to Jessica, priest in the Parish of Trentham, and an unapologetic enthusiast for both the gospel and good technology.
Simon is co-vicar of St John’s and an ordained priest in the Anglican Diocese of Wellington. He has a deep love for this corner of Upper Hutt — and for a church where prayer is the heartbeat and everyone, whoever they are, is genuinely welcome. He’s also an amateur pub theologian with a soft spot for the weird bits of the Bible — the strange, awkward, easily-skipped passages where, he reckons, some of the best treasure is buried.
Outside the parish, Simon is a director of a Wellington technology company, drawing on more than 25 years in IT. A self-confessed tech geek — usually first in the queue for whatever new gadget has caught his eye, and first to tell you whether it’s actually worth it — he brings the same curiosity and care to ministry as he does to technology.
Simon and Jessica’s household is a cheerful juggling act of teenagers, labradoodles and parishioners, each with their own very particular needs.
